(WINN): OECS Heads have approved the appointment of the next Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, but according to a press release issued by the Office of the St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Monday, the name will be announced ‘in due course.’
Monday’s release says that the appointment was approved at by the OECS Authority at the recent 55th Meeting of Leaders in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The new Chief Justice of the OECS Supreme Court will assume the office following the retirement of the current Chief Justice, His Lordship, Sir Hugh Rawlins.
The OECS Heads also agreed to the appointment of a Director General of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority.
According to the release OECS Commissioner, Her Excellency Astona Browne has indicated that the names of both appointees will be given at a later time.
Sir Hugh will retire from service effective July 31st.
