Basseterre, St. Kitts (WINN): Former People’s Action Movement MP and Government Minister Constance Mitcham is dismissing reports that she will make a run for the leadership of the party.
“I have no such interest,” she told WINN FM this week.
Ms Mitcham who served in government for twelve years and was St. Kitts and Nevis First female Minister, said there were a lot of talented and well-deserving members of the People’s Action Movement who could take the helm.
PAM Leader Lindsay Grant has resigned effective September 30th, though he has indicated that he will continue to stand as a candidate for the Party in Constituency Four.
Speaking to WINN FM on Wednesday, Ms Mitcham praised Mr. Grant’s stewardship and said he was an honest and decent gentleman. She said she understood having served for the same number of years as he had, that he felt it was time to step aside.
