St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN); Flow 4G Cayon Rockets are the 2017 SKNFA Premier League Champions.

Cayon and Hobson Enterprises Garden Hotspurs went head to head Wednesday night (June 14) in a decisive Game two of the finals, coming off Cayon’s 2-0 trouncing of Spurs in Game one on Sunday.

Facing a win or go home situation, Spurs came out strong, determined to bag the win and force a game three. Cayon, who has been playing consistently not only during the regular season but also in the final four series, was clearly intent on shutting down their opponents in the second game.

While both teams attacked the goals from the first whistle, the first goal came from Cayon’s Carlos Bertie in the 40th minute.

The score remained 1-0 at the half.

Spurs stepped up their game in the second half, looking to equalize the game and move ahead of Cayon. It was not meant to be however as Spurs lost critical possessions and were unable to find the back of the goal.

Cayon won the match 1-0.

WINN FM spoke with Spurs Head Coach Al Richards after the match who congratulated Cayon, and commended his team for playing “good football” despite the loss.

Javeim Blanchette, one of the more prolific players for Cayon and indeed the league, told WINN FM it was a tough Finals but Cayon was better able to execute to cop the title. He said Spurs put up a good fight but the better team won.

Flow 4G Rockets took home more than just the trophy and bragging rights, the SKNFA Premier League Championship purse stands at $20,000.
