(Antigua Observer) Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, will play at least one warm-up match in Antigua as they prepare for this year’s installment of the regional competition slated to bowl off 4 August in St Lucia.
The Patriots will take on an All Stars team selected from the recently concluded Cool & Smooth T20 Explosion which was captured, for a third consecutive year, by the PIC Liberta Blackhawks.
Cricket Operations Manager with the Leeward Islands Cricket Board (LICB), Vernon Springer, said the match will also double as a scouting opportunity for the Patriots whom he said, are still on the hunt for players.
“Alzarri Joseph, once fit, will be going to England with the Windies team and hopefully Kieran Powell which means you would have two spots available in the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots for the CPL 2017. We spoke to the Patriots about having a practice game here in Antigua & Barbuda and the good news is that this game is going to take place on Monday, 31 July at the Sir Vivian Richards stadium at 7pm,” he said.
