In a most exciting game that only could be rivaled by the “Thrilla in Manilla” where Muhammad Ali faced Joe Frazier in 1975, the SOL Island Auto Conaree FC was crowned the 2017 Easter Cup Champions as they defeated the HE Garden Hot Spurs 5 goals to 2.
The game had to be decided in extra time as goal scorers Kadeen Lewis, Sylvester Caines and Javern Matthew ensured that the boys in yellow and green stayed out front. Also noteworthy is the stout defending and goalkeeping of the team even though we were down to 10 men as the team lost its talisman, Errol O’loughlin in extra time.
After 120 minutes jubilation ensued by players and fans as for the first time in team history the Easter Cup was finally home.
The Club would like to express its gratitude to the fans and its sponsors for their continued support through its trying periods and solicits their continued support as we seek to capture the FA Cup and the Premier Championship in the upcoming weeks.
Stay tuned for bigger and better things for your beloved club.
