(CMC): PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, – The main opposition People’s National Movement (PNM) Tuesday called for an urgent sitting of Parliament “within 48 hours” to amend legislation that allowed two prominent financiers of the ruling United National Congress (UNC) to petition the Supreme Court to dismiss a multiple of corruption charges against them.
PNM and Opposition Leader Dr. Keith Rowley told a news conference that if the government fails to convene a session of Parliament, he has already written to the Police seeking permission “to stage a demonstration of citizens outside the office of the prime minister on Thursday morning”.
