New Zealand to Chase 265 for Victory

Basseterre, St. Kitts: New Zealand need 265 in 50 overs to draw level with the West Indies at two matches each in the five match series.  West Indies won the toss and chose to bat in cloudy conditions after overnight rain delayed the play by 15 minutes. With ideal conditions returning - the ball seeming, swinging and bouncing - West Indies were in early trouble with the loss of Johnson Charles, Chris Gayle and Dwayne Smith and were soon 3 wickets for 20 runs after 6 overs.  Sensible batting from Marlone Samuels (46 runs), Kieron Pollard (56 runs), and a feisty knock from Devon Thomas (37 runs), helped the West Indies to reach a competitive total of 264 at Warner Park on Saturday.  New Zealand are expected to fire on all cylinders on a small ground that offers good batting conditions.  New Zealand should have a boost in confidence with the presence of Ross Taylor, Brendon McCullum and Doug Bracewell in today's game.  The Umpires are out and the players are about to take to the field and the hundreds of fans present  are ready to support their teams. It's cricket, lovely cricket in St. Kitts and Nevis.
