Basseterre, St. Kitts (WINN): The Business Studies students at the Advanced Vocational Educational Center (AVEC) will be the main beneficiaries of eight Acer computers that were donated to the institution Monday by telecommunication company Digicel and Techsperts.
The Director of Avec, Clyde Christopher told WINN FM that the computers came with built on CPUs, 17-inch monitors and had wifi capabilities.
Mr. Christopher said the shortage of computers affected the Business Studies class.
"We have a situation where sometimes we cater to twelve, fifteen persons in the Business Studies and no systems...for them to work with, and very often we had to double up in terms of allowing them access to the computer room, sometimes when other classes are in there."
He said the institution was extremely appreciative of the contribution.
"I believe that our Business Studies Department as a result will be in a far more superior position."
The Director estimated that the contribution was valued at about EC$10,000.
