St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN); Police have confirmed the discovery of a decomposing body in the hills of Olivees late Wednesday night (June 14), suspected to be the remains of Leanna Napoleon, the 17-year-old reported missing since May 8.

While no official statement has been issued, a police source did confirm the body was that of a female, and the discovery was made around 10pm. It was not said how the body came to be discovered.

Leanna, a 5th form student of the Basseterre High School, disappeared May 8 after she wrote one of her CSEC exams that morning. She reportedly was last seen downtown on Fort Street that afternoon.

Police took a number of persons into custody for questioning during the course of the investigation, including the teen's older brother. Extensive searches were carried out in the Buckleys, Keys Village and other areas.

It is expected that forensic tests will be carried out to determine the identity of the deceased and cause of death.

Relatives of the teen have already posted on social media saying, "Rest in Peace Tiney".
