St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): After a tough second round, Basseterre High School is now leading in the SCASPA Best In Class Quiz, ahead of defending champions and winner of the first round, the Charles E. Mills Secondary School.

Tuesday night’s second round saw Verchilds High eliminated from the competition, leaving four schools to compete for the title- Basseterre High School, Charles E Mills Secondary School, the Immaculate Conception Catholic School and Saddlers Secondary School.

Public Relations Officer of SCASPA Nordia Demming spoke to WINNFM about the results of the second round.

“Basseterre High School led with eighty-eight points, Charles E. Mills Secondary School with seventy points, Immaculate Conception Catholic School with forty-five points Saddlers Secondary School with twenty-five points, and Verchilds High School got eliminated with the least of twenty points.”

Contestants are quizzed on material from their core-curriculum, in the areas of Math, Science, English, History, Geography and Current Affairs, as well as the “Wild” round.  Students are also given questions about SCASPA’s corporate history and operations.

The semi-finals start this Thursday, May 18th, followed by the finals next week on May 25th.

Winners of the SCASPA Best In Class Quiz will receive monetary prizes and a cruise ship excursion.
