St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Prime Minister Timothy Harris says the coalition government has in two years kept more than 50 election manifesto promises.

Here is one of the achievements as emphasized by the Prime Minister.

“I would want to record among our outstanding achievements, the quick way in which within six months we took the policy action required to remove Vat from food, medicine and educational supplies. You may ask why those three, because fundamentally those three were at the essence of the quality of life which most people and particularly the poor, in St Kitts and Nevis would be able to experience. When we lifted the burden of an onerous seventeen percent add on, on the cost of food we made it easier for the poor people to survive and for people of all classes and walks of life to be able to experience that quality of life through food which they determine. When we removed the seventeen percent from medicine we are saying that the government must never come between a man and his health.”
