Crews working to restore power after island-wide outage

Basseterre, St. Kitts (WINN): Electricity crews ran into difficulty Sunday afternoon, trying to restore power following an island-wide power outage just before 2:00 p.m.
A statement issued by the St. Kitts Electricity Company (SKELEC) at about 4:00 o’clock reads:
“At approximately 1:45pm there was an island-wide blackout. While trying to restore the plant there was a fault on the grid that caused a similar failure. We are again restoring all feeders and apologise for the interruptions.”
