Basseterre, St. Kitts (WINN):  The Kim Collins Highway is closed Sunday to allow for the Electricity Department to cut a trench across the road in order to connect newly erected streetlights to the power grid.

According to Head of the Police Traffic Department Inspector Cromwell Henry, the work is expected to be completed by midday, after which Public Works crews will immediately begin filling in the trench.  He told WINN FM that the entire operation should concluded by 2:00 p.m., and the road re-opened.

Meantime, the resurfacing of Liverpool Row in downtown Basseterre, should also be completed Sunday, the Inspector has said.

Liverpool along with Princes Street and Delisle Street were closed to vehicular traffic Saturday, as Public Works removed their surfaces and began re-laying asphalt.   Princes Street was finished Saturday.

The Inspector says he expects the operation on Liverpool to be wrapped up Sunday, but has indicated that work on the adjacent Delisle Street might continue into Monday.
