St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): One recent victim of crime is calling for an increased police presence especially in rural parts of the country. The appeal comes amidst an initiative of the Police High Command to recruit retired and other former police officers to help swell the ranks of the police force to strengthen its crime fighting efforts.   St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Three individuals arrested recently for allegedly attacking police officers have been bailed in the sum of $25,000 each. The three, an adult and two juveniles, are scheduled to make an appearance at the District “A” Magistrate’s court in October. They were arrested and charged following an August 16 incident which Winn FM reported the following day. St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Tropical Storm Erika unleashed severe flooding across Dominica on Thursday, triggering landslides that destroyed at least 20 homes.  "The situation is grim. It is dangerous," said Ian Pinard, Dominica's communications minister. About 80 percent of the island was without electricity, and water supply was cut off, authorities said.
